In April 2016, Jacob Jan Boerma opened his restaurant The White Room in Anantara Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky Amsterdam, which was honored with its first Michelin star in 2017! The fine dining restaurant will seat 60 guests for both lunch and dinner. The name The White Room is derived from the historical name of the room ‘De Witte Zaal’, the name that was given to the restaurant when it first opened in 1885. The room is listed as a monument and is considered to be the oldest restaurant of Amsterdam in original condition. History and future are connected with one another, due to the modern styling of this unique restaurant.
In this position you are the Head-Sommelier of Restaurant The White Room. Together with Maître Bram Hommes and Chef Tristan de Boer you know how to surprise our guests with a unique wine list and your advice in wine-food combinations. Through your experience you are able to look for new, challenging combinations of dishes and wines. All in all, a very versatile and challenging position!
In addition, you convey your passion for wine to the guests of Anantara Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky Amsterdam. You are the Wine-Expert for the entire hotel. You are responsible for creating the wine selection in Restaurant the White Room, Grand Café Krasnapolsky and in our Bar The Tailor. You will also create exclusive wine and food combinations for our guests during events and Anantara Experiences.
